Drama or drama (derived from the ancient Greek word δράμα ("drama") meaning "act) is a literary genre used to characterize plays, books, films, television programmes and other forms of fiction in which certain personal developments of one or more characters are central. A drama usually deals with an emotional theme, allowing the viewer or reader to empathise with the characters and identify with them.
