Various choirs

Singing has probably been going on since classical antiquity, perhaps even in prehistoric times. The choir, a group of singers who sing together, is much younger. The one-part Gregorian chant was always sung by a so-called schola. The traditional polyphonic choir only appeared at the end of the Middle Ages, around 1400. Gregorian chant can be found under 'Liturgy', most religious choral music can be found under 'Oratoria - Masses - cantatas' and 'Early music and music documents'. Under 'Various choirs', on the other hand, you will find mainly non-religious choral music from the Renaissance to the present day.
